Taking the First Steps

So Brad and I have 3 small kids.

Our youngest, Aaron, is now 18 months old and this week he decided to start walking!!

If you have ever taught a little kid to walk you might know how scared and nervous they are taking those first few steps.

And sometimes they cry and cling to you before you even understand what’s going on.

Aaron had been crying more than usual and clinging and wanting to nurse more than usual.

It was pretty exhausting.

Little did I know that our littlest baby was going to embark on the next part of his little journey.

Now that he’s walking he can wear shoes and soon he’ll grow out of his onesies and into big kid clothes.

He’ll loose a lot of his baby fat and begin to look more like a little boy.

Changes like these are scary.

Getting to the next level in life can be scary for adults too.

Sometimes we have to leave the comfort of the known behind.  Stepping into the unknown brings new and sometimes scary challenges.

But when you step forward, taking risks, you become the person you must be in order to realize your fullest potential.

Taking the first step towards healing yourself and your relationship can be uncomfortable but what most people find is a warm community of friends on the other side waiting to support and love you.

And more importantly, people find the intimacy with their partner they had once lost.
